2019 Holstein Princess

Amanda

Hello Everyone!
My name is Alexis Costello and I am honored to be your 2019 Iowa Holstein Princess. I am the 20-year-old daughter of Tim and Karen Costello of Cedar Rapids. My sister, Abby, served as the 2010 Iowa Holstein Princess, which makes this opportunity extra special. My family raises show heifers as well as milking about 90 head at the dairy.
I graduated this May from Mount Mercy University with a Bachelor of Business Administration. My major was Operations Management with minors in Criminal Justice and Economics. I am currently in the graduate program at MMU working towards my MBA and will be done May 2020. In high school, I was very active in 4-H and FFA. I served as the Linn-Mar FFA Chapter President and was apart of the National FFA Chorus twice. I also served as the 2017 Linn County Fair Queen.
I started my duties this year at the 33rd Celebration of Ag banquet in Cedar Rapids as a guest of honor. I was able to meet and speak with a number of industry and political representatives about the current state of agriculture. I am most looking forward to events such as this in the coming year where I get the opportunity to advocate for the dairy industry. If you have any shows, fairs, parades, or events you would like me to be present at, please do not hesitate to reach out. My email is alcostello19@gmail.com. I look forward to meeting many of you in the coming year.
All the best,
Alexis Costello
